Recode systems. Restore safety. Reclaim power.

CodedChange builds public safety infrastructure through innovation, youth development, advocacy, and community investment. We equip those most impacted by violence with tools to protect, heal, and transform.

Who We Are

CodedChange is a Black-led nonprofit committed to transforming how Black and Brown communities experience safety. We are rooted in the belief that the people most impacted by violence should lead the solutions and that we don’t need to wait for change; we can build it ourselves.

We build public safety infrastructure through technology, youth development, advocacy, and
investment in community practitioners. By equipping those on the frontlines with tools,
training, and support, we work to recode systems of harm into systems of healing,
protection, and possibility.

CodedChange is a community-rooted organization building public safety infrastructure through innovation, youth development, advocacy, and investment in community practitioners. We provide tools, training, and technical assistance that help communities recode systems to break
the cycle of violence and create the conditions necessary for healing, safety, and collective liberation .

A future where communities build their own safety, youth lead with purpose, and the tools of liberation are in the hands of those doing the work.

The name CodedChange reflects our commitment to transformation at every level—coding tools, rewriting systems, and creating change from within. We believe safety is something we build, not something imposed.

Building Public Safety from the Ground Up

At CodedChange, we design programs that support youth, strengthen frontline workers, and provide communities with the infrastructure needed to create safety and healing on their own terms. We believe those impacted by violence are the best equipped to lead real change.
